School of Standards

Coming soon: European Business School of Standards

CITIZENStandards AISBL as a private non-for-profit International association under the Belgian law - composed of standardization professionals and Business School professors - supports the establishment of the European Business School of Standards.

Objectives of the Business School:
- skilling of University grade and postgraduates, and
- reskilling of Senior professionals.

This initiative supports and complements the fourth pillar of the EC Strategy on standardisation: 'Address standards-related education, skills and expertise, both in the public and private sector'. The European Business School is born at the 2022 European Year of Youth, as the young citizens have the right to access the necessary skills to draft a promising professional career.

Standardisation is a necessary subject in many professional profiles (research and development, procurement, product design, product and service safety, industrial marketing, conformity assessment, regulatory affairs, compliance officer, sustainability officer, enforcement authority, trade department, etc). More than two million citizens work directly or indirectly with standards in Europe. The European Business School of Standards is, therefore, born to cover this specialised need using the latest training techniques and digital technologies.

Supporting the green and digital transition is a challenge for most European institutions and associations in the next years, and where skills and competences are needed. The European Business School of Standards will provide specialised education and training programmes in how standards support the deployment of cutting-edge environmental techniques and digital technologies and for multi-disciplinary courses on how standards support the circular economy, ecodesign and resource efficiency, energy efficiency, climate change, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, IoT, etc.

Safety of Consumers and citizens, product and service safety and quality, sustainability of consumption are at the heart of CITIZENStandards and they are also covered by our ambitious training program. We will target both the staff of Citizens' and consumers associations as well as public authorities (such as regulatory officers and enforcement authorities).

The European Business School of Standards is launching the first training activities during 2022, with an ambitious and comprehensive training program to provide the necessary competence to standardization professionals from companies, associations, public authorities, or societal stakeholder representatives.
